One day after designer L'Wren Scott was found dead of an apparent suicide in her New York City apartment, the celebrity favorite's longtime boyfriend, Mick Jagger, has responded to the tragedy via a posting on his official Facebook page.

"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," the Rolling Stones frontman wrote in a post published midday Tuesday. "We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves." Jagger and Scott had been a couple since 2001.

"She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me," Jagger continued.

"I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received."

The rocker, who canceled a tour date in Australia after hearing news of Scott's death, concluded his post simply: "I will never forget her." Read the whole thing — and see the black-and-white photo of Scott that Jagger posted alongside it — on Facebook.
