• Meryl Streep is reportedly attached to star in Ricky and the Flash about a woman trying to repair her broken relationships with the family she abandoned to be a rock star decades earlier. Diablo Cody (Juno) penned the script and Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs) is attached to direct. All are Oscar winners. • Corey Stoll (House of Cards) is reportedly in early talks to join Marvel’s Ant-Man. The Edgar Wright-directed pic stars Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas and is set for a July 31, 2015, release. No details were available on Stoll’s potential role. [The Wrap]
• Real-life couple Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are attached to star in Vacation Friends, a spec script from Tom and Tim Mullen that Fox has reportedly just acquired in a “seven-figure” deal. Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine) will likely direct. [Deadline]
• Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) is attached to star as Winston Churchill in Captain of the Gate. The film will cover his rise to power through World War II. No director is attached at this point. [THR]
• Damian Lewis (Homeland) has boarded Our Kind of Traitor, in which he’ll play a member of British Intelligence. He’ll star opposite Ewan McGregor, Stellan Skarsgard, and Naomie Harris in the John le Carre adaptation. Susanna White (Nanny McPhee Returns) is directing off of a script from Hossein Amini (Drive). • Mamie Gummer (Emily Owens M.D.) will co-star with Jennifer Aniston in Cake — a Black List script from Patrick Tobin about a woman who becomes obsessed with a member of her support group who comments suicide. Gummer will play the personal trainer of Aniston’s character. Daniel Barnz (Beastly) will direct. [THR]
• Rapper T.I.(House of Lies, Boss) will play Kevin Hart‘s cousin in the comedy Get Hard, starring Will Ferrell as a wealthy man who is facing prison time. Both Hart and T.I.’s characters get enlisted to help him prepare for life behind bars. Etan Cohen is directing. [Deadline]
• Luke Grimes (True Blood) has boarded the ensemble cast of Clint Eastwood‘s American Sniper, starring Bradley Cooper. [Variety]
