The Amazon original Alpha House garnered over 6,000 five-star reviews during its first season, and it’s not stopping now: Amazon announced today that the political comedy is getting a second season.

Alpha House is a joy to work on and we’re thrilled that the show’s been renewed by Amazon,” Garry Trudeau, writer and producer of Alpha House, said in a statement. “It’s fun to dance on the leading edge of streaming video, where audiences converge on server farms at all hours, besotted by John Goodman and free two-day shipping.”

Goodman, along with Mark Consuelos, Clark Johnson, and Matt Malloy will all be returning for the second season, which should begin shooting this summer.

Amazon also announced today that six of its original pilots are getting full seasons, including X-Files creator Chris Carter’s drama The After and comedy-drama Mozart in the Jungle starring Gael Garcia Bernal and written by Roman Coppola.

Other shows getting the greenlight include Six Feet Under director Jill Soloway’s Transparent, homicide detective series Bosch, children’s live-action show Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street, and animated children’s show Wishenpoof!

Amazon customer reviews determined which series got approved for full seasons. “We had a tremendous response to Amazon Studios’ latest pilots — in fact, double the number of customers watched these pilots compared to our first season and they posted thousands of heartfelt reviews with pleas for us to continue these shows,” Roy Price, director of Amazon Studios, said in a statement.
