'X-Men: Days of Future Past' final trailer: Wolverine, time-traveler

The third and final trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past has arrived, and it’s Wolverine’s time to shine.

This is The Clawed One’s (Hugh Jackman) call to action, the scenes that find him traveling back in time to confront a despondent Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) to unite two generations of X-Men — those from the original films, and those of X-Men: First Class — to fight a war that threatens the existence of mutants and mankind alike.

That means we get both McAvoy and Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, as well as Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen as Magneto. This time out, young professor gets a free cheap-shot at his best frenemy. Take a look:

X-Men: Days of Future Past also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Anna Paquin (surprise!), Halle Berry, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore.

The film hits theaters May 23.
