Odd thing happens to Elisabeth Moss in cryptic 'One I Love' trailer

Many romantic comedies make love out to be some sort of beautiful, universal mystery. The One I Love turns it into a literal mystery—or something. Frankly, it’s really hard to tell from the trailer.

Starring Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) and Mark Duplass (Safety Not Guaranteed) as a couple that journeys to a secluded romantic retreat, The One I Love promises a shocking twist in the midst of their fairly ordinary relationship. Again, that’s what the trailer implies—first-time feature director Charlie McDowell’s not really giving much away.

What we do know is that Ted Danson (Cheers) also appears as Duplass and Moss’s therapist, and that the film got some nice praise at Sundance: “a bump into the realm of Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze” from The Hollywood Reporter and “an intriguing premise we can’t really discuss here” from IndieWire. Point is, something really awesome is happening here, but no one’s revealing exactly what it is.

“It’s so weird,” says Moss’s character. “It’s really odd,” says Duplass’s. Vivaldi plays in the background.
