'Hannibal' win the Best Drama EWwy, creator Bryan Fuller thanks fans

It was a decisive win for NBC’s Hannibal, earning the title of Best Drama Series in the 2014 EWwys—EW.com’s 7th annual awards for the Emmy-snubbed—with roughly 40 percent of the vote.

“We are in such a wonderful age where fans now have a face thanks to social media, and they have rallied around Hannibal with a Fannibal circle of protection, and love, and light,” creator Bryan Fuller told EW Radio while accepting the honor. “So grateful for them supporting the cannibal in every way that they do.”

As Fuller shared at Comic-Con, the season 3 premiere may feel like a pilot for a new show starring Mads Mikkelsen and Gillian Anderson as “a murder couple.” The action will jump ahead roughly eight months, with Fuller earmarking the season’s fourth episode to reveal everything that happened during that time span.

He also noted that unlike Best Actress in a Comedy winner Emmy Rossum (Shameless), who said she’d be placing her EWwy trophy on the back of the toilet in her guest bathroom, his will go over his headboard.
