Jennifer Lawrence once said, “I really would not call myself a fashion icon. I would call myself somebody who gets dressed by professionals. [It’s like], ‘Dance, monkey, dance’ right on the red carpet.’ I would call me more of a monkey.” But even if she hasn’t always embraced fashion, the fashion world has certainly embraced her: the star will be one of the co-chairs of this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit.

According to a press release from the museum, Lawrence (a face of Dior) will co-chair the event, which will celebrate the opening of the 2015 Costume Institute show, “Chinese Whispers: Tales of the East in Art, Film, and Fashion.” The exhibition, a collaboration between the museum’s Costume Institute and Department of Asian Art, “will explore how China has fueled the creative imagination for centuries, resulting in layers of cultural translations, re-translations, and mistranslations.” Lawrence’s co-chairs include Gong Li, Marissa Mayer, Wendi Murdoch, and Anna Wintour, the namesake of the museum’s Anna Wintour Costume Center, where part of the exhibit will be on display.

Last year’s co-chairs included Sarah Jessica Parker—whom Lawrence photobombed on the 2013 red carpet—and Lawrence’s frequent co-star Bradley Cooper. The gala will take place on May 4, 2015.
