If anyone is wondering why they might enjoy—or at least appreciate—The Boxtrolls, Ben Kingsley is here to help.

Kingsley stars in the 3D stop-motion animated film, which tells the tale of Eggs, an orphaned boy raised in a cave by trash-scavenging trolls known as the Boxtrolls. Kingsley stars as the antagonist, exterminator Archibald Snatcher, who seeks to get rid of the trolls once and for all.

EW enlisted the film’s villain to pitch Boxtrolls to a variety of audiences, ranging from a 25-year-old waitress in Kansas to hotshot NASCAR drivers and Kingsley does so, with the eloquence of the classically trained actor that he is.
