With Uncle Buck, In the Heat of the Night, and Real Genius series all in the works, it looks like the television forecast has called for a high probability of more movie reboots in the future. Next up: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

DHX Media and Sony Pictures Animation have begun developing a new TV adaptation based on the bestselling book by Judi and Ron Barrett and the 2009 film and 2013 sequel. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs: The Series will chronicle the high school years of eccentric young scientist Flint Lockwood, voiced by Bill Hader in the films. DHX Media, the company behind Yo Gabba Gabba!, Teletubbies and Disney XD, will produce 26 22-minute episodes of the computer-animated series.

"Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs has a tremendous legacy as beloved children's books and a duo of highly popular feature films, showing how great ideas can succeed across media," DXH Media president and COO Steven DeNure said. "We believe audiences both old and new are going to love this fiercely funny franchise re-imagined for the small screen." In addition to Lockwood, expect many familiar faces from the film like new school reporter Sam Sparks, Flint's father Tim, Steve the Monkey, and sardine model Brent McHale. No word on whether or not Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Neil Patrick Harris or Andy Samberg will reprise their voice work, respectively.

"DHX's track record in creating great kids' television content makes them an ideal partner to capture the unique humor and tone of Flint Lockwood and his friends that made the theatrical franchise so successful," executive producer at Sony Pictures Animation Rick Mischel said. The Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs film franchise grossed a combined $510 million in theaters.
