Golden Globes: Ruth Wilson wins Best Actress, TV Drama

For the second time tonight, The Affair has beaten favored winner The Good Wife, this time with Ruth Wilson taking home her first Golden Globe for her work in the freshman drama. With her win in the Best Actress in a TV Drama category, Wilson defeated Viola Davis, Robin Wright, Claire Danes, and 12-time nominee (and one-time winner) Julianna Margulies.

On stage, Wilson reflected back to her last Golden Globe nomination and how much it sucked to lose, before thanking the writers of The Affair for giving her one of the most “complex” and “depressed” characters she’s ever played. Oh, and then she had a special shoutout for co-star Dominic West: “Dom, your ass is something of great beauty.”
