'Lego Movie: The Videogame' arrives on iPhones, iPads

Lego Movie Game

The video game based on the 2014 movie based on the beloved children’s toy is giving iOS owners a reason to yell “Spaceship!” on Thursday, as Warner Bros. has announced The Lego Movie Videogame is arriving on Apple devices.

The Lego Movie game debuts on the App Store Thursday, Jan. 22 for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches, bringing with it more than 90 characters from the film and 45 missions to play. The game follows the plot of the film, as average Lego citizen Emmet is pulled into a quest to take down Lord Business.

Players can take control of Emmet, as well as everyone from Batman to Gandalf, on the hunt for Lego instruction pages—it’s more fun than it may sound—on the path to becoming a Master Builder. The game will travel through worlds seen and mentioned in the film, including Cloud Cuckoo Land and Flatbush Gulch.

The Lego Movie Videogame costs $4.99 and is now available on iOS devices. The game previously released last year on PC, Mac, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

The Lego Movie received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song with “Everything Is Awesome,” and while the film itself did not receive a nomination, one of its directors decided to create a Lego-ized award of his own.
