Casting Net: Dakota Johnson, Leslie Mann, Dan Stevens in talks for 'How to Be Single'

Dakota Johnson, Leslie Mann, Dan Stevens, and Rebel Wilson are all in talks to join Alison Brie in How to Be Single. The romantic comedy is based on the Liz Tuccillo novel about a woman living in New York and searching for love. Production is set to begin in April. [Variety]

Hilary Swank and Susan Sarandon will be joining the voice cast of the 3D animated comedy Spark. Swank, who will be voicing a noble queen, and Sarandon, a nanny robot, are joining a cast that includes Jessica Biel and Jace Norman. The animated film, follows the story of a teenage monkey, a “battle-ready fox,” and a “tech-savvy warthog” who set out on a mission to take back their planet from a power-hungry general. The film is in production with plans to be released in 2016. [Variety]

Caitriona Balfe (Outlander​) is joining the cast of Money Monster, a financial drama directed by Jodie Foster. The cast already includes George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jack O’Connell (Unbroken), with Clooney starring as Lee Gates, “a bombastic television stock huckster, whose program—Money Monster—and life are taken hostage by an outraged gunman (O’Connell).” While the world watches live, Gates has to keep himself alive and use the help of his producer (Roberts) to uncover the truth behind many big-money lies. Balfe is set to play the head of PR for the company whose stock bottomed, causing O’Connell’s character to lose his life’s savings. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Abbey Lee (Mad Max, Gods of Egypt) has been selected by Nicholas Winding Refn to star alongside Elle Fanning in his next film, The Neon Demon. Lee is negotiating to play the part of Sarah, a cool ringleader of an evil group of models. Shooting will begin at the end of March in Los Angeles. [Deadline]
