Guillermo del Toro's 'Crimson Peak': Open house (of horrors)

Guillermo del Toro’s latest haunted house is now open.

Universal and Legendary Pictures have unveiled the first trailer for del Toro’s upcoming gothic horror film Crimson Peak, and expectedly, it’s equal parts horiffic and gorgeous.

Del Toro has kept much about the film under wraps; the trailer offers the first true look at what he’s planning. The mansion at the heart of the film is filled with beautiful decor—and more than a few restless spirits, though it seems the director is saving the bulk of the house’s horrors for when the film actually releases.

Del Toro’s visual flair is certainly on display, as is the film’s cast, which includes Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, and Charlie Hunnam.

Crimson Peak is set to hit theaters on Oct. 16.
