Kevin From Work, a new workplace comedy, just got a series order with a summer premiere date from ABC Family.

In the show, Kevin (Noah Reid) accepts a job offer overseas, giving him the courage to profess his love to the co-worker he’ll never see again. He writes Audrey (Paige Spara) a love letter… and then his job offer is withdrawn, so Kevin and Audrey must continue working together, though she now knows his true feelings.

Kevin From Work is an endearingly awkward love story—this time from the guy’s point of view,” says Karey Burke, executive VP of programming and development for ABC Family.

How I Met Your Mother‘s Barbie Adler wrote the pilot and will be a writer on the series. McG, director of The O.C. and Charlie’s Angels, will direct the pilot and several subsequent episodes. The single-camera comedy also stars Matt Murray (Rookie Blue), Jordan Hinson (Eureka), and Punam Patel (Second City, Chicago). Amy Sedaris guest stars.

Production on Kevin From Work begins in June.
