Unless you’re the type of person who pores over the liner notes of rap records, you probably haven’t heard of Swedish-born producer iSHi. Either way, though, you’ve probably heard some of the beats he’s made for Lupe Fiasco, Shakira, Usher, and Ne-Yo, or at least the smash hit “Written in the Stars” he made with Tinie Tempah.
On May 1, iSHi will drop a solo EP, Spring Pieces. The glitchy black-and-white video for the remix of its lead single “Push It” features a reunion with Tinie, a cold-blooded verse from Pusha T, and a cameo by Mikael Persbrandt, the Swedish star of film and television who’s best known in these parts as Beorn from the Hobbit movies.
