Well dang, are we excited. Joe Dirt, David Spade’s mulleted, rock-lovin’ redneck is coming back this summer, and EW has your first look at the teaser trailer.

In Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser, our hero is a happy family man—who finds himself transported to the recent past. There begins his epic journey to get back to his loved ones in the present. “Joe ‘Keeps on keepin’ on,'” Spade tells EW. “He’s married now and doing his best, but things don’t all go perfectly for him, as usual. Like he says in the movie, when he gets a setback, ‘I just keep getting stupider.'”

Why bring Joe back after all these years? “I’ve always liked the movie a lot,” Spade says. “But I also go by feedback from people I see or [what they write] on Twitter and Instagram. Besides Tommy Boy, this is the most talked-about movie for me. After 10 years of people still asking about a sequel, we finally found a good way to do it…. Joe is a fun character to play. I’m stoked for everyone to see it.”

Returning alongside Spade is the great Christopher Walken, as well as Brittany Daniel, Dennis Miller, Adam Beach, and, fresh from Sharknado 2, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath. Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison is producing the film, while Fred Wolf (Joe Dirt, Grown Ups) directs, and Wolf and Spade both produce and write.

This sequel to the 2001 cult hit is the first made-for-digital sequel to a major motion picture. Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser will premiere on the streaming service Crackle (home to Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee) this summer.
