'Inside Amy Schumer' to tackle Bill Cosby controversy this season

Amy Schumer comes off as a music video pro in the “Milk Milk Lemonade” sketch from the upcoming season of Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer—but she didn’t feel like one filming it. “I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life as being in that room,” she said at a Tribeca Film Festival panel moderated by EW’s Sara Vilkomerson.

Schumer spends most of the video showing off her butt—or her fudge machine, as the song eloquently puts it—but she also does some rapping. “I’m delusional with a lot of things, but I do not think I’m a rapper,” she said. “It’s on World Music, this website, and people have never heard of me, and they all think I’m a rapper. They’re like, ‘This girl sucks!’ I’m like, ‘I know!'”

Schumer said making the music video wasn’t “that hard.” What was hard was creating a sketch centered around the Bill Cosby controversy. To refresh: Comedian Hannibal Buress called Cosby a “rapist” in a stand-up set last fall, and since then, multiple women have come forward claiming Cosby drugged and/or sexually assaulted them.

“I had an idea to do a scene where there was somewhat of a support group and it was all girls who wouldn’t say what happened, but they were all wearing Cosby sweaters,” Schumer said. “And we were like, we want to address this. We don’t want it to go away without us getting to comment on it. I think we probably talked about this scene more than any other scene we’ve ever done.”
