“What’s up with Area 51?” is a question conspiracy theorists have been asking for years about the Nevada air force facility which, some believe, houses the remains of a crashed alien spacecraft. It is also a question sci-fi and horror fans have been asking for years about the film of the same name. Directed by Paranormal Activity’s Oren Peli, shooting on Area 51 began way back in 2009. Now, six years years later, it has been announced that Peli’s found footage film will finally screen at select cinemas from May 16.

The movie concerns three young conspiracy theorists who attempt to uncover the mysteries of Area 51. According to the offical synopsis, “What they find at this hidden facility exposes horrifying, unimaginable secrets. Now you can experience their harrowing adventure in this footage pieced together from documentation of these chilling events.”
