Jimmy Fallon welcomed Blur back to late night television when he had them on to perform “Ong Ong” off new album The Magic Whip last week. On Monday, he shared a backstage video of himself and the group jamming out to “Tender” (off their 1999 collection 13—which was the most recent record to include guitarist Graham Coxon) and let’s just say, he gives Conan O’Brien a run for his musical money.

(Shoutout to bassist Alex James who cruises through his performance, feet kicked up on the drums, and a smile of content plastered on his face. You are awesome, sir.)

The Britpop pioneers made another rare appearance of in support of Whip—performing in New York City for the first time in 12 years (and just their third time in North America since 2003) when they played host along with Converse Rubber Tracks at the Music Hall of Williamsburg last Friday. Aside from “Ice Cream Man,” they played the new material from start to finish as well as a few old favorites like “Beetlebum,” “Trouble in the Message Centre,” and “Song 2.” Their next live performance is booked for June 13 at the U.K’s Isle of Wight Festival; a full list of dates are on their website.
