In a pink dress and glittered heels that paid homage to the song’s original video, Kellie Pickler covered Tammy Wynette’s 1968 classic, “Stand By Your Man,” on the Grand Ole Opry this week. (“Man” was the most successful track of Wynette’s career, spending three weeks at No. 1 on the country charts and peaking at No. 19 on the pop charts the year it released.)

Pickler has been vocal about Wynette’s influence on her music over the course of her career and after winning Dancing with the Stars in 2014 she floated the idea of a Wynette Broadway show to Country Weekly, saying, “Since the show, I’ve been wanting to do Broadway so bad just to throw together two of my passions—dance and music. I want them to do like a Tammy Wynette Broadway musical! I know Dolly Parton has her Broadway shows, and I think if anybody lived a country song, it’s Tammy.”

The “Little Bit Gypsy” singer’s last release, The Woman I Am, came in 2013. Plans for her next album have not been annonced, but she is currently filming a reality show with her husband, Kyle Jacobs, for CMT that will focus on her career and home life.
