The Last Man on Earth will welcome another man to Tucson, but this one is behind the scenes.

Dan Sterling will join the Fox sitcom as the new showrunner, it was announced Wednesday by 20th Century Fox TV, which produces Last Man. Sterling, who co-wrote the screenplay for The Interview, has served as an executive producer of The Office and The Sarah Silverman Program, and his other credits include Girls, The Daily Show and South Park.

Will Forte, who stars in Last Man as Phil Miller, one of the, well, last men on Earth, also created the series and has been serving as showrunner, executive producer and one of its writers, so this means the mega multi-tasker is relinquishing one of his titles. Sterling, who signed an two-year overall deal with the studio, will serve as an executive producer alongside Forte and Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

The Last Man on Earth wrapped up its well-received first season on Sunday with an out-of-this-world twist.
