Sorry, Beverly Hills Cop fans—you’re going to have a wait a little longer to see Eddie Murphy pick up his badge again. The much-anticipated Brett Ratner-directed action sequel has been taken off Paramount’s release schedule, the studio confirmed to EW.

As first reported by The Wrap, Paramount announced a release date of March 25, 2016 for Beverly Hills Cop 4 roughly a year ago. Jerry Bruckeimer will return to produce the film, which remains in development, largely due to delays with the script—a concern Murphy spoke openly about back in January. The script is reportedly being written by Mission Impossible: Ghost Procotol‘s Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec.

Currently, there’s no word on a new release date. But it’s safe to say that considering the initial release date would have pitted the film against Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the delay may end up working in Paramount (and Murphy’s) favor.
