This year’s BookCon is jam-packed with stars—both literary and of the screen—and now EWcan announce an exciting panel that combines the two.

Our own Melissa Maerz will moderate Room: First Look and Cast Discussion, featuring author Emma Donoghue (who wrote the riveting, heartbreaking, and triumphant best-selling book) and Brie Larson (who will star in A24’s film version as “Ma”). Also on the panel? Jacob Tremblay, who will play Room‘s resilient, 5-year-old narrator, Jack.

Room tells the story of Ma and Jack, who live alone in a single, locked room: Jack was born there, and he and Ma use their imaginations and play games. The Room is all he knows of the world—only Ma knows the truth of their captivity, at the hands of a man named Old Nick who visits at night. Through her tenacity and strength, and Jack’s loving trust, the two fight to survive.

Room: First Look and Cast Discussion panel takes place Saturday, May 30, at the BookCon Special Events Hall at the Javits Center.
