They say never bring a knife to a gunfight, but if you’re Gael Garcia Bernal, you may want to bring a machete.
In the new trailer for The Burning, Bernal stars as a mysterious man who emerges from the Argentinean rainforest to rescue a kidnapped woman (Alice Braga) after mercenaries murdered her father and seized her family’s property. Directed by Argentinean filmmaker Pablo Fendrik, this environmental thriller has all the makings of a classic Western revenge story, set against the gorgeous (and deadly) rainforest.
The Burning premiered at Cannes in 2014 and will open in several territories this summer.
