'We Are Still Here': EW review

Image

Taking a cue (or two or three) from early-’80s chillers like The Fog and The House by the Cemetery, Ted Geoghegan’s directorial debut has enough decent scares to push it past pastiche. Genre legend Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator) and Andrew Sensenig star as a couple who move into a creepy old house and sense a supernatural presence. Is it their dead son, or something more evil? The film’s chilly mood will keep your knuckles tightened even if its bloody finale feels familiar. B–
