The Festival People en Español has called San Antonio home for the past three years, but is moving to New York’s Jacob Javits Center this time around for its two-day celebration during Hispanic Heritage Month.

The free event will include both performances and panels, including one called “Your Voice, Your Power, Your Festival” led by Emilio and Gloria Estefan. For those who want an extra dose of the Estefans, On Your Feet!, a Broadway musical about the Estefans’ musical success, begins previews in New York Oct. 5 and will be showing that weekend.

Actresses Angelica Vale and Maite Perroni are also set to appear at the festival, as well as Angelica Maria, who will be receiving the Icono de People en Español.

People en Español embodies the excitement and influence of the Hispanic community shaping every aspect of our culture from music to politics to Hollywood,” People en Español publisher Monique Manso said in a statement. “What makes this event so distinctive is that it has become a platform for Hispanic influencers to convene, be entertained and elevate our voices to impact our community.”

Festival People en Españoltakes place Oct. 17 and 18. See the Festival People en Español website for more details.
