True Detective: Taylor Kitsch breaks down that motorcycle ride

In the season 2 opener of True Detective, fans don’t learn much about Paul Woodrugh. Played by Taylor Kitsch, Woodrugh is clearly a scarred man, both physically and emotionally. But the depths of those scars were only hinted at in one of Woodrugh’s final scenes of the hour.

After having what appeared to be a less-than-satisfying sexual experience with a lady friend, Woodrugh hopped on his motorcycle for a high-speed ride that immediately caused discussion across social media. (Because who doesn’t love watching Kitsch brood on a bike at dangerously high speeds?)

So when Kitsch stopped by our offices, we talked to him about the filming of that scene and how exactly they made his cheeks look like that.
