Wes Craven dead: Courteney Cox, Rose McGowan, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and more pay tribute

Hollywood is paying homage to horror master Wes Craven, following his death at the age of 76.

Among those who paid tribute are John Carpenter, Roland Emmerich, author Anne Rice, The Walking Dead, and Scream stars Courteney Cox and Rose McGowan.

“Shedding tears now. A giant has left us,” McGowan wrote.

Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films, also released this statement: “I am heartbroken at the news of Wes Craven’s passing. We enjoyed a 20 year professional relationship and more importantly a warm and close friendship. He was a consummate filmmaker and his body of work will live on forever. My brother and I are eternally grateful for all his collaborations with us. Our deepest sympathy to his family.”
