'The Program': Lance Armstrong biopic trailer

How far would you go to win? Lance Armstrong, at least via the portrayal by Ben Foster in The Program, would do whatever it takes.

The electrifying new trailer is here for the Armstrong doping biopic, which tracks the infamous cyclist from before his first Tour De France victory in 1998 to 2012, when he received a lifetime ban by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Chris O’Dowd plays David Walsh, a dogged Irish sports journalist who can’t believe Armstrong kept it clean. The film is adapted from Walsh’s book, Seven Deadly Sins, about his long journey to seek the truth about Armstrong. The cyclist was ultimately stripped of his titles because of his use of performance-enhancing drugs. In an interview with The Guardian Thursday, Foster said he, too, took performance-enhancing drugs to get into character.

Catch the trailer above, which also features Jesse Plemons as Armstrong’s teammate Floyd Landis, Guillaume Canet as doping coach Michele Ferrari, and Dustin Hoffman. The film debuts Monday at the Toronto International Film Festival.
