Director Jon Favreau talked about bringing the characters of The Jungle Book to life through motion-capture, live-action, and CG at Disney’s D23 Expo. Neel Sethi voices Mowgli, Ben Kingsley voices the panther Bagheera, Bill Murray voices the bear Baloo, Scarlett Johansson voices Kaa, Idris Elba voices the tiger Shere Khan, Christopher Walken voices the monkey King Louie, and Giancarlo Esposito and Lupita Nyong’o voice wolves Akela and Raksha.

Select members of the cast came out for D23 to promote the film. Sean Bailey, President of Production at Walt Disney Studios, said, “We strive to both honor what’s come before while saying something new. And with this title, the bar is very, very high.”
