Colonia trailer: Emma Watson, Daniel Brühl fight for love

Emma Watson has a knack for playing women who stand up for what they want, and her role in Colonia will be no different. In the first trailer for the film, which Watson shared Monday on Facebook, the actress takes on Lena, a young woman who infiltrates a cult in order to reunite with her lover. “I joined up to find you,” she whispers to Daniel (Daniel Brühl) in the clip.

During the Chilean coup of 1973, the two meet at street rally in support of Salvador Allende and spend a few days together in bed getting to know each other. When Augusto Pinochet’s secret police find the couple, they abduct Daniel and bring him to the inescapable Colonia Dignidad.

Colonia, directed by Florian Gallenberger, premiered at TIFF on Sunday, but does not yet have a date for wide release. Check out the trailer here:
