General Hospital‘s Nancy Lee Grahn has issued an apology for a tweet she sent out after Viola Davis made history by being the first black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work on How to Get Away with Murder. Accepting her award, Davis gave a moving speech, quoting Harriet Tubman and discussing the ongoing battle for black actresses in Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Grahn took to Twitter to share her thoughts, saying:
