A Christmas Horror Story: See William Shatner in an exclusive clip

Slay bells ring in A Christmas Horror Story, a yuletide-themed anthology film telling interweaving stories about the ghastly happenings in a seemingly ordinary town called Bailey Downs.

Directed by Canadian horror veterans Grant Harvey, Steven Hoban, and Brett Sullivan (all alums of the Ginger Snaps franchise), Christmas Horror Story follows teens exploring the scene of a grisly murder, a married couple discovering that something is very wrong with their young son, a dysfunctional family tangling with the horned beast Krampus, Santa fighting off zombie elves, and one increasingly inebriated radio DJ holding down the night shift.

That last character, DJ Dangerous Dan, is played by none other than William Shatner, who tells EW that he had no qualms filming from the comfort of the booth rather than battling supernatural creatures or braving winter weather.

“I felt very good about sitting there while everybody else was sitting in the cold,” he says.

That’s not to say Shatner doesn’t pull his weight in the film. In addition to providing some gonzo comic relief, Dangerous Dan also helps knit the various narrative strands together, including setting up a killer climax.

“It’s a lovely evening’s entertainment,” Shatner says, “if you want to be horrified.”
