The dawn of Snowden has been set (again). The Oliver Stone-directed thriller will open in theaters May 13, 2016.

Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, the feature — which also stars Nicholas Cage, Melissa Leo, Shailene Woodley, and Zachary Quinto — was first pitted to open for Christmas 2015. Sources told EW last month that the film would not be finished in time to meet the awards deadline for voters. Last year’s Oscars honored Citizenfour, which focused on the the real Snowden, as that year’s best documentary.

Stone used two different Snowden books — The Snowden Files by Luke Harding and Time of the Octopus by Anatoly Kucherena — to pen the script with Kieran Fitzgerald. Gordon-Levitt himself even secretly met with the fugitive Snowden, who successfully sought political asylum in Russia.
