Tyrant has been renewed for a 10-episode third season, FX announced Thursday.

The series, which hails from Howard Gordon, Chris Keyser and Glenn Gordon Caron, stars Adam Rayner as the son of a dictator who returns to his homeland and finds himself thrown back into the family business when his father passes. In its second season, the series averaged 2.47 million total viewers when factoring in Live +7.

Tyrant’s second season took the show to a new level thanks to the skill and direction of Howard, Chris and Glenn and their creative team, the exceptional cast and a story steeped in family, loyalty and intrigue,” FX president of Original Programming Eric Schrier said. “We look forward to the next chapter and a sensational third season of Tyrant.”
