Harry Potter: J.K. Rowling's favorite chapter is from 'Deathly Hallows'

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling wrote seven books about “The Boy Who Lived,” and, as it turns out, she has a favorite chapter.

When asked about it on Twitter, Rowling revealed it to be chapter 34 from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, called “The Forest Again.” This is the moment when Harry, realizing what he must do to kill Voldemort, enters the Forbidden Forest to confront the dark wizard. It also features the moment when he is finally able to open the Golden Snitch and see his deceased family using the treasure within.

Rowling also tweeted that this chapter made her cry, as “it was the culmination of 17 years’ work and the most cathartic piece of writing of my life.”

Rowling returns to the world of Harry Potter — though not to Harry Potter himself — in penning the screenplay for the film adaptation of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which stars Eddie Redmayne, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Colin Farrell, and Katherine Waterson and is slated to arrive in November 2016.
