One Direction star Louis returns to The X Factor UK in new promo

Louis Tomlinson is reuniting with Simon Cowell — the man responsible for the pop behemoth that is One Direction — but it’s not going to be all “I miss you” flowers and candy hearts.

The singer’s return to The X Factor U.K. next week, five years after placing third in the competition, is going to be very intense, judging from a brand-new promo for the episode. Tomlinson’s going to be helping Cowell pick the finalists in the “overs” category — between Anton Stephans, Bupsi, Ebru Ellis, Jennifer Phillips, Kerrie-Anne Phillips, and Max Stone — and it looks like it’s not going to be an easy choice.

Also appearing in the episode will be Meghan Trainor, who will help out Rita Ora to narrow down the girls’ category; Mark Ronson, who will be pairing up with Nick Grimshaw to select the boys; and Jess Glynne, who will aid Cheryl Fernandez-Versini in the groups.

The X Factor U.K. airs Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on AXS TV in the U.S. and on Sundays at 7 p.m. BT on ITV in the U.K.
