When the Chicago Cubs face the New York Mets at Wrigley Field in Chicago for Game 4 on Wednesday night, expect to see a familiar face in the stands: Rookie of the Year star Thomas Ian Nicholas.

The actor appeared alongside Gary Busey, Albert Hall, and Amy Morton in the 1993 baseball film as Henry Rowengartner, a young pitcher who helped the Cubs clutch the World Series championship. (The real-life Cubs haven’t won a title since 1908.) For the big game, Nicholas will be rocking a Rowengartner jersey for the first time since filming (he usually sports a jersey with his actual last name).

“I’ve never done that,” Nicholas told ESPN.com. “I haven’t worn a Rowengartner jersey since the movie, but I feel like we kind of need it right now. It’s kind of like my rally cap.” The Cubs trail the Mets three games to none in the best-of-seven series.

Nicholas hopes to offer up a little hope to the Cubs, and since the Cubs were pit against the Mets several times in the film, he can’t help but draw similarities between the film and real-life events.

“When we found out the Cubs were going up against the Mets, it was amazing. It’s just like the movie,” Nicholas said. “It’s like art imitating life, life imitating art. The parallels are uncanny. I wanted to be there, and now I feel like I need to be there. I need to bring some luck to Wrigley Field.”
