How much do filmmaking twins Jen and Sylvia Soska love horror? Well, they crafted 2012’s truly deranged body-horror movie American Mary and are now the hosts of the the horror-themed game show Hellevator, which premieres tonight on GSN at 8 p.m. So, we’re going to go out on a (severed) limb and say that they love it a lot.

But which horror movies would they love for you to check out this Halloween season? Read on to find out…

Sylvia Soska: I would suggest a film called The Guest [directed] by Adam Wingard and written by Simon Barrett. It’s like Uncle Buck meets Drive. So, imagine, instead of John Candy showing up and everything going awry, that Ryan Gosling’s [character] does. I won’t tell you more, but it’s going to be the best movie of your life.

Jen Soska: I would like to plug A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. It’s by this amazing female director, Ana Lily Amirpour. It’s such an unconventional, completely original take on the vampire genre — kind of like Pontypool was a completely original take on zombies. It’s such a good film. People really need to check it out.
