It doesn’t look good for The Player. NBC has reduced the order of the Philip Winchester and Wesley Snipes show to nine episodes, EW confirmed.

The show will conclude airing in the middle of November, but no replacement program is immediately clear.

The ratings haven’t been there for The Player, despite a lead-in from The Blacklist. Thursday’s episode registered just over 4 million viewers, a drop-off from the James Spader vehicle (6.68 million) and its stiff competition of ABC’s #TGIT closer, How to Get Away with Murder (6.95 million).

The news comes a couple weeks after Fox’s Minority Report was cut to 10 episodes.
