Suicide Squad director David Ayer debuted a cover of Empire featuring the Joker, and while it’s not quite as colorful as the previously revealed collector’s edition cover, it’s no less shocking.

The cover offers a full look at Leto’s take on the clown prince of crime as he holds onto an electrified weapon in each hand. (Whether the shockers in his hards are a new form of the Joker’s electric joy buzzers or if it means he’s lifted these weapons from DC Comics villain Electrocutioner remains to be seen.)

“I took a pretty deep dive,” Leto told Empire of his method of portraying the iconic character. “But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn’t imagine doing it another way. It was fun, playing those psychological games.”

Ayer also released the next in what is presumably a set of covers, giving what is perhaps our best look yet of Cara Deleviingne in character as Enchantress.
