Rick Ross confirms Black Market release date

Fresh off house arrest and remixes of Drake’s “30 For 30” and Adele’s “Hello,” Rick Ross has confirmed Dec. 4 as the release date for his eighth studio album, Black Market. The record is Ross’ third studio effort in the last two years, following 2014’s Mastermind and Hood Billionaire. The Southern rapper most recently released the mixtape Black Dollar in September.

Ross spent much of the summer on house arrest after reportedly getting into an altercation with a groundskeeper in June where broke the man’s jaw and injured his neck. As TMZ reported Sunday, Ross now appears to be free of the confines of his home. Authorities in Georgia also arrested Ross in June for misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Ross shared Black Market‘s Chris Brown-featuring first single “Sorry” in October. “This album is, I feel like, most definitely gonna be a Rozay on a higher, intellectual level, just discussing a different array of things” the rapper told Billboard Monday. “I love writing in the capacity of groups of people, clubs, visions; rarely is it intimate moments where you’re just totally confined to yourself. And I did a lot of writing and I had a lot of time to do that. The music kind of came out that way.”
