Luke Cage: Sonia Braga cast in Marvel-Netflix series as Soledad Temple

Looks like we’re going to be meeting Claire Temple’s mom in the Luke Cage series.

Marvel has cast Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actress Sonia Braga to play the role of Soledad Temple in the upcoming Netflix series. As the last name might suggest, Soledad is the mother of Rosario Dawson’s character Claire Temple, who has already appeared to nurse our heroes back to health in Marvel’s two other Netflix series, Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Of course, Claire herself will be appearing in Luke Cage, and the casting of her mother appears to indicate that she’ll have a more major role than her cameo in Jessica Jones.

In the comics, Claire and Cage are romantically involved. Could we be getting a scene where the man with impervious skin has to meet the parents? Only time will tell.
