One lucky Janis Joplin fan will be riding around in style thanks to winning an auction for her psychedelic 1965 Porsche. The vehicle was up for grabs at RM Sotheby’s Driven by Disruption collectible car auction in Manhattan Thursday night, where it sold for $1.76 million.

“It’s a fantastic automobile that transcends art, pop culture and social movements,” RM Sotheby’s managing director Ian Kelleher said earlier this year, “and is as groundbreaking and stunning as the renowned singer was herself.”

Joplin purchased the car in 1968 and had her roadie Dave Richards decorate it in the style of her personality, according to UltimateClassicRock.com. Following her death in 1970, Joplin’s manager took ownership of the colorful car before it went on display in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The bids started at $600,000 before reaching the final selling price in five minutes. The buyer has not yet been identified, but will be easy to spot on the road.
