Earlier in the week, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed to EW the many magical powers that will be wielded by Benedict Cumberbatch‘s titular sorcerer in the new superhero movie, Doctor Strange (out Nov. 4). But, fear not, fight fans! Cumberbatch’s Strange will be getting both metaphysical and actually physical in director Scott Derrickson’s film as he transforms from a surgeon incapable of conducting operations after his hands are damaged in a car accident to a full-fledged Marvel hero.

“There’s a huge amount of physicality,” says the actor. “He’s physically a very strong presence in the world. His hands are no longer capable of the fine skill needed for delicate surgery but physically he’s still strong. There’s a lot of running. There’s a lot of craziness: falling, flying, jumping, fighting, punching, getting punched. It’s really rough and tumble.”
