Sometimes there’s no escaping a good catchphrase. Retta’s iconic Parks & Recreationline, “treat yo self,” has become so ubiquitous that it’s suffused the actress’ life, both on the internet and in real life.

“If I don’t hear it at least 10 times a day, I haven’t left my house,” Retta told Seth Meyers on Wednesday. “People tweet me all the time. Nothing I post doesn’t have the comment ‘treat yo self’ in it. I love that people think they’re discovering new land with it.”

In the wake of Parks & Recreation, Retta has a new role on Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, but even there she can’t escape the legacy of “treat yo self.” Retta told Meyers that after filming her first episode, she got an email from creator Marti Noxon. Noxon and her daughter had been big fans of Parks, and Donna in particular.

“They were upset when they found out the show was canceled, so her daughter said ‘if she can’t do that show, can she do your show?'” Retta said. “And that’s how it happened. A 9-year-old got me a job, y’all.”
