Macklemore and Ryan Lewis basically owned 2012 with a best selling album and ubiquitous singles like “Thrift Shop” and “Same Love,” but they mostly stayed quiet for the past few years. That’s about to change. Mackemore and Ryan Lewis just announced their next album, This Unruly Mess I’ve Made, will be released Feb. 26.

The album, which includes previous singles “Growing Up,” “Downtown,” and “Kevin,” was recorded over the course of a year in the Pacific Northwest.

“What I couldn’t find in a hotel room, on the road or in Seattle, I found in the middle of nowhere,” Macklemore (real name Ben Haggerty) said in a statement on his website. “No reception. Making music not because we had to, but because we got to. I had forgotten how to do that. Not being afraid of the platform we were standing on.”

The duo also recorded a special video message to their fans. Head to Macklemore.com for the full statement.
