Kimmy Schmidt will continue not breaking for another year.

Netflix announced that its sleeper hit sitcom Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, has been renewed for a third season.

The news was announced right before the show’s panel on Netflix’s leg of the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, and fresh off the announcement of the second season’s premiere date: April 15.

During the panel, series star Ellie Kemper — who plays a perennially upbeat cult escapee rediscovering the world after 15 years trapped in an underground doomsday cult — joined Fey and co-stars Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, and Carol Kane to offer teases about the upcoming sophomore season.

“She grapples with some pretty heavy life stuff in this season,” said Kemper. (The current rumor mill suggests that the second season will involve Kimmy’s search for her mother.) Kemper adds that her nanny relationship with Jacqueline (Krakowski) will also shake up this season now that Jacqueline is out of a husband and a cashflow. “The employer-employee relationship is sort of muddied a little bit because these two are friends. Their dynamic changes a little bit,” said Kemper, to which Fey added, “She starts to convince her she should probably be doing a lot of this stuff as [her] friend, to save money.”

Krakowski teased Jacqueline’s journey to beocming her own woman in the wake of her harrowing divorce at the end of last season. “She’s trying to learn what her life is now that she’s no longer Mrs. Voorhies. Now she’s Jacqueline White, and trying to stand on her own two feet,” said Krakowski. “I think she really does have a greater understanding of what the world is about by the end of the season.” Fey also added, “She’s sort of on a mission to help her family and realizes that the best way to do that is not necessarily going back and trying to live with them but by trying some other stuff.”

Titus will find success with his one-man show, but it’s fleeting. “He is far, far away from the type of fame that he think he’s deserving,” said Burgess, who was Emmy nominated for the role. He teased that the end of the season offers another opportunity for fame, though Fey clarified it’s a “small-scale, incremental opportunity.”

Fey also announced she would be returning in her role as prosecutor Marcia, though paparazzi photos last fall basically confirmed that anyway.

The first season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt premiered on March 6, 2015.
