Eva Longoria is spreading the love.

The actress is part of a bold and powerful project by French artist and photographer Olivier Ciappa in which the subjects pose as same-sex couples or families to combat homophobia.

In her shots, Longoria, 40, poses in an intimate embrace with singer Lara Fabian.

For the series, called “The Imaginary Couples,” Ciappa also shot other straight actors, artists and athletes, including Sicario director Denis Villeneuve and Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallée.

On his website, Ciappa explains he decided to create the photographs after a picture of himself, his partner and their baby was shared millions of times on the Internet, inspiring him to put together the series as a message of “peace and unity.”

“Homophobia is the first symptom of a widespread ignorance of homosexuality, a distorted vision, sometimes fantasy,” he explained. “So I wanted the viewer to confront the gentleness, the simplicity of these images in order to change their look, sweep their representations and keep only the essentials: love, nothing but love.”

As for Longoria’s real-life love story, the star got engaged to her beau José “Pepe” Bastón during a trip to Dubai this past December.

The couple have yet to announce any official wedding plans, but the Telenovela star recently told PEOPLE Now she wouldn’t mind eloping so the ceremony is “free of guests and guest lists and things like that!”

“We call him ‘Mr. Fancy Pants’ because he always has a pocket square and a suit,” Longoria added of her fiancé. “He’s super stylish. He loves fashion way more than I do!”
