Elizabeth Banks wants to play James Bond

Elizabeth Banks has proven herself more than capable in Hollywood, after working on hit films and TV shows both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. So for her next project, how about taking on her dream role? As James Bond.

During Entertainment Weekly’s Beyond Beautiful roundtable interview, Banks, Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, and Reese Witherspoon were asked which person they would want to portray on screen. While Longoria chose Tom Hanks, The Hunger Games actress chose a more iconic — and oft debated — character. And to clarify, that’s James Bond, not Jamie Bond.

“Why you gotta change it?” Banks asked about the idea of a gender swap.

“You don’t. You actually don’t,” Washington agreed.
